What is included in the dance program?

Live Classes with Teacher Feedback
The staff have extensive backgrounds in dance and either hold a certification with various dance associations or are currently being mentored in the specialized teacher training program. Many staff have grown up at the studio so they know and have lived the studio motto “Every ‘Body’ Can Dance”.
The teachers goal is to bring the love of dance into their classrooms to encourage, inspire and educate students in this new world of online learning.

MSD Online is offered by Markham School of Dance established October 2001. MSD offers dance classes including examination programs in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Modern, and Musical Theatre and Performing Arts classes in Acting and Singing. MSD has trained over 10,000 students in Dance and Performing Arts including training students for their teachers certifications with various dance associations.

Are these online classes going to be offered in person?
No, these classes are a separate program from our in-person classes. These classes are only offered online.
How old do you have to be to join?
Classes are offered for ages 3 to Grade SK. We recommend parents dancing with all students ages JK and under. If you are looking for classes for School Grades 1 to 12 please Click Here
What is the best way to join the class?
Classes can be joined from any device. Students can join from a Computer, a Tablet or a Phone. You can also cast or connect to your device to your TV.
When is the best time to start dancing?
You can start dancing at anytime! The classes are set up in monthly themes and skill building and each class includes a new choreography each month. So it is suitable to join at anytime.
Do you need to have any special dancewear or clothing?
No, we recommend wearing something comfortable and easy to move in. For footwear, please select something that is suitable for your flooring and not slippery; you can dance barefoot, in socks, running shoes or dance shoes if you have them.
Is there any equipment required?
You will require a device to connect to the class. No other equipment is required.
What platform do students use to join the class.
The classes are hosted through Zoom.
My Child is in SK can they join the Grade 1 and up class?
Students in SK would only be eligible for the Twinkle
Dance program until the school year is over (after June, one they complete SK).
